Holland Parks & Recreation has the most hardworking, incredible employees and we are excited to shine light on them in our Employee Spotlight Series!

Makenzie Cude is a dance and ice-skating instructor, and she has been working with us for over two years! We had the pleasure of visiting her at her adult tap dancing class to ask her a few questions about herself and her job!

Briefly describe your position and what you do with Parks & Recreation.

Makenzie: I’m a dance instructor for the youth and adult dance programs. During the winter, I also teach Little Gliders and Learn to Skate classes at the Ice Park!

What kinds of recreational activities do you participate in during your spare time?

Makenzie: I’m very involved in the Hope College Dance Department, and I also enjoy volunteering, going on bike rides, going to the beach, and spending time with my friends and family.

What is your favorite part about your job, and why?

Makenzie: Watching my students learn, grow, and gain confidence throughout our programs. I also love working alongside such an amazing group of coworkers who support and encourage me every day!

What is your favorite thing about Holland?

Makenzie: I love the amazing community and how kind everyone is!

Who or what inspires you professionally?

Makenzie: Knowing that I can make a positive impact on others while sharing my passion for dance and ice skating with my students.

What is your go-to meal in Holland?

Makenzie: Breakfast at Windmill Restaurant and a pretzel from Knot Spot!
