Winter Dance

Students will be introduced to jazz and hip-hop in an age-appropriate style. They will explore the fundamentals of jazz and hip-hop, and learn about moving to the rhythm of the music. Students will give a short performance on the last day of class so their family can see what they’ve learned.

Children will discover fun basic dance steps and will be encouraged to use their imagination in this class. Dance will be introduced in a friendly, positive manner by moving to the beat of Disney. Participants will give a short performance on the last day of class so the family can see what they’ve learned.

Spring Dance

This is a beginner’s dance class where children will be introduced to the basic dance steps of ballet and jazz in a fun creative way. We will be using props like balloons and hula hoops to teach students about utilizing their dance space wisely. Participants will give a short performance on the last day of class so the family can see what they’ve learned.

Holland Parks and Recreation is offering a limited enrollment dance program for 3rd and 4th-grade students. This program is open to all 3rd and 4th-grade students attending Holland Public Schools or homeschool. Practice begins at the conclusion of the school day until 5:15 PM. It’s a great way to keep your child active after school while learning various dance genres and terminology. Students will explore a different dance style each day and learn a short 1-2 minute routine related to that day’s focus.

This class is the perfect introduction to hip-hop dancing, with a touch of tumbling and beginner gymnastics. Students will explore how their movement connects with the rhythm of music while also building coordination, balance, and strength through basic tumbling skills. A great way to keep your students entertained during spring break. Each day of camp we will be adding onto a short dance that will be performed for families on the last day. Arts and crafts, dance games, and high-energy activities will keep dancers engaged and moving.

This program is the perfect way to introduce your child to tumbling and gymnastics. Students will focus on basic motor movements, as well as beginning gymnastics skills and technique. Parent/guardian presence is requested throughout the class to assist your child on the tumbling mat.

Summer Dance

In this class, your student will learn the beginning concepts of ballet and creative movement. Participants will learn foundational ballet vocabulary and steps. Participants will give a short performance on the last day of class to show their families what they’ve learned.

I’m a 28-year-old from Bloomingdale, Michigan. I have my Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science and a dance minor from Western Michigan University. I’ve been dancing for about 24 years and teaching dance for 10 years. In my spare time, I enjoy working out, spending time at the beach, and snuggling with my 2 cats. I love sharing my passion for dance with others and teaching my students a skill that I love.

Hi! My name is Ally Kaiser, and I’m from Grand Rapids, MI. I’m a current junior at Hope College, where I’m studying Studio Art, Communications, and Dance. I’ve been dancing for about 17 years, and I am trained mostly in ballet and modern dance. In my spare time, I love going to the beach and spending time with my loved ones and two dogs. Hello! My name is Jessica Tyler. I was born and raised in Livonia, Michigan. I’m a junior currently studying Spanish and Dance at Hope College. Additionally, I’m currently a member of StrikeTime Dance Company. Dance has truly been a big part of my life. I started dancing at the age of 3, and I haven’t stopped since. Outside of dance, I enjoy getting coffee, running, and spending time outdoors. I’m looking forward to sharing my love and passion for dance with you all!

I am a West Michigan-raised woman enjoying the journey of life surrounded by constant love and laughter. I grew up dancing in Grand Rapids, continued this passion all throughout college, and then began coaching high school varsity-level dance. After years of coaching, I pursued my professional career and founded my own Event Planning Company. Aside from planning weddings, I enjoy spending time with family, snuggling my goldendoodle, going to coffee shops, living room dancing, and reading a good book. I am thrilled at the chance to get back into the dance world and continue teaching others the joy and creativity it can bring!

Hi! My name is Makenzie Cude, and I’m from Howell, MI. I’m currently a junior at Hope College, where I am studying Psychology on the Pre-PA track and Dance. Dance is a huge passion of mine, and I enjoy sharing that love through teaching. When I’m not dancing, I enjoy training in figure skating, spending time with my family, and hanging out with my 8 goats and 3 dogs. I’m excited to share my love for dance with each of my students and help them discover the joy and creativity it can bring!
