Come on down to the Holland Ice Park ribbon this summer for Skate, Blade, & Scoot Thursdays. Bring along your roller skates, roller blades, or kick scooters to ride the 700-foot-long roller ribbon. We have two timeslots available during the program. 4:30-6:00 will be reserved for young children learning how to use their wheels. From 6:00 till 7:30, the ribbon will be open for older children and adults who are more experienced with their equipment. This is drop-in free time on the ribbon; no instructions are provided. During Skate, Blade, & Scoot Thursdays, concessions will be available to purchase at the admissions window (card only at this time).

4:30-6:00: Youth Skate, Blade, & Scoot

Recommended for children ages 2-8. Limited equipment is available for rent on-site and can be checked out for a fee on a first-come, first-served basis. At the moment, we only have scooters and balance bikes, no roller skates. See the pdf below with all the equipment we currently have available! Bikes are not allowed at Skate, Blade, & Scoot Thursdays, with the exception of balance bikes for those working on learning to ride. This program is designed for beginners just learning and practicing. For everyone’s safety, no older children or adults who are proficient will be allowed to race on the ribbon. Helmets will be required on the ribbon. Helmets, knee pads, and shoulder pads can be checked out for free at the admissions building.

6:00-7:30: Adult Skate, Blade & Scoot

Open time on the ribbon for more advanced skaters. No bikes or electric equipment will be allowed on the ribbon. All equipment must be used on the ground and never on rails or any other structures. Parks & Recreation employees will always be present to ensure that everyone is utilizing equipment safely.
