BBOP

In 1994, in Holland, Michigan, a group of players were put together for a one-time Sunday service special music event. Who knew that this many years later, this core group of church musicians would grow into BBOP: the Big Band of Praise!

The BBOP of today continues because they are passionate about big band music and sharing that music and their stories with as many people as possible. Most of the players are only part-time musicians and commit to each season of rehearsals and performances in addition to their full-time jobs and busy lives they lead. They are a tight-knit group of friends that look forward to each new season as they grow closer in their friendships and tighter in their music.

The BBOP season runs January through December, with a large portion of events held during the summer months of May through August. You will hear them at summer concert series, festivals, professional sporting events, and many other venues. Where there’s an audience that’s ready to swing, they’d love to be there.

Izzy Joy

Izzy Joy is a powerhouse vocalist, pianist, and songwriter who is redefining the indie-soul scene with her genre-bending sound and emotional storytelling. Recently crowned the 2025 Michigan State Fair Superstar, she has captivated audiences on legendary stages from Nashville to LA. Backed by her band of seasoned professionals, Izzy delivers a dynamic performance that you’ll be sure to remember.

Under the Covers

Under The Covers is a Grand Rapids, Michigan cover band bringing high-energy performances and pure good-time vibes to every stage they play. With a setlist spanning decades and genres — from The Beatles and Led Zeppelin to The Killers, Foo Fighters, and Djo — there’s something for every generation to sing along to. Known for their infectious energy and crowd-first mentality, these guys treat every show like a party and every audience like old friends. Come spend your summer evening by the water with a band that’s all about making great music, great memories, and a whole lot of fun.

Grupo Bengala

Founded in the 1990s by Benjamin Galaviz Sr., Bengala is a family-based Latin band featuring multiple generations of musicians alongside close friends. Known for their high-energy performances, the group plays a variety of Latin rhythms, with cumbia serving as their signature sound. Bengala combines decades of musical experience with a passion for keeping people dancing and celebrating.

Toppermost Tribute

The Toppermost Beatles tribute has been performing its authentic Beatles concert experience for 19 years in Michigan. Toppermost is the best Beatles tribute act in the Midwest. Audiences are encouraged to sing, dance, and clap along to the best music ever made. This family-friendly show includes authentic costumes, equipment, mannerisms, and stories behind the songs. Smiles are guaranteed!

Violet Velure

Violet Velure is a female trio bringing together rich harmonies, layered instrumentation, and a love for songs that connect across generations. Blending vocals, keys, drums, bass, and acoustic guitar, the group puts its own spin on familiar female-driven favorites while keeping the performances energetic and engaging. Drawing inspiration from alternative rock, pop, and the spirit of the 80s/90s music, Violet Velure balances polished musicianship with bold female energy. Alongside reworked classics, the band also performs original material inspired by the unmistakable vibe of 90s alternative and pop rock.

LaJoye Quartet

The LaJoye Quartet/Quintet is comprised of Piano, Bass, Drums, Vocals, Trumpet/Flugel Horn, and frequently performs as a quartet.  On many occasions, there is an added bonus of a saxophone.  Hence the name.

The members of the band are lifelong musicians who bring skill to the ensemble which plays American Songbook with a jazz flavor.

Los Estrellas de Oro

Led by the legendary Eliberto Contreras Jr., Los Estrellas de Oro stands as one of the Midwest’s most respected and enduring conjunto bands. Born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas, Eliberto began playing the accordion in his teen years and founded Los Estrellas de Oro in 1992, where he continues to carry the torch of conjunto music with passion and purpose.

With over three decades of musical excellence, the band has built a legacy rooted in tradition, authenticity, and mentorship. The talented lineup features Alberto Bocanegra on bajo sexto and second voice, David Garcia on guitar, and Osvaldo Contreras on drums. Their rich musical history includes performing alongside many of the genre’s most iconic artists, such as Esteban Jordan, David Mares, Al Chavarria, Jessie Serrata, and Rueben Vela, among others, while also helping countless local bands establish themselves within the regional music scene.

Los Estrellas de Oro have released five acclaimed albums: Un Corazon Amargado (2009), Conjunto Hasta La Muerta (2011), Yo So de Tejas (2013), Back on Track (2023), and Para Nuestra Gente (2024). Their latest release earned them a Tejano Talent Music Awards (TTMA) nomination for the Song of the Year with their hit ‘Popurri Bronco Medley,” which also marked the debut of their first official music video. In 2024, the band was also honored as a Top 5 TTMA Band of the Year nominee, a testament to their continued impact and excellence.

Operating their own recording studio in Grand Rapids, Michigan, As Ledo Production, Los Estrellas de Oro not only self-produce their music but also mentor and record emerging artists — continuing to preserve and expand the rich legacy of Conjunto music for generations to come.
