HollandBikePark

Ride. Learn. Grow. A bike park for a happy, healthy, and confident community.

The City of Holland will break ground on the pump track portion of the Community Bike Park in the spring of 2026.  The Holland Bike Park will be located at 97 N. River Ave., just north of the Unity Bridge.  The park will initially feature approximately 600 feet of asphalt pump track adjacent to a community gathering space.  As interest and investment grow, additional skills areas will be added.  During the design and planning process, the City of Holland conducted extensive fact-finding by consulting local stakeholders, community development organizations, bike trail contractors, Parks and Recreation departments, and surrounding municipalities. The details and priorities of this project have been shaped by this collaborative process.

A pump track is a set of paved rollers and berms designed to be ridden without pedaling.  For a visual explanation, view this short video:

The pump track portion of the project is scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2026.  In the summer of 2027, the Bike Park is projected to add three separate skills areas, contingent on available funding.  This timing is largely due to feedback from the contractor building the Bike Park who can only complete the initial pump track in 2026.

The overall goal of the Bike Park is to serve as a place for the community to gather.  Planned amenities include a common gathering area with a pavilion, benches, picnic tables, a drinking fountain, and a bike repair station.

There will not be permanent restroom facilities at the Bike Park initially.  Portable restrooms will be provided, as is common in many of our City and other regional parks.  A beginner-level bike trail will connect the Bike Park to the Ice Park, where permanent restrooms are available.

There will not be a dedicated parking lot at the Bike Park.  However, an existing parking lot is located approximately 1,500 feet south of the site.  In addition, the Bike Park will be located directly off the Macatawa River Greenway Path, which connects the park to the City of Zeeland, Zeeland Township, Park Township, Holland Charter Township, and Laketown Township.

No.  The Bike Park is funded through a combination of donations, grants, and the City’s general fund.
