The Tulip City Kids’ Triathlon will take place at Smallenburg Park & Bouws Pool, 365 Fairbanks Ave, Holland, MI 49423. Check-in will open at 8:00 AM on Saturday, August 1, 2026. You do not need to arrive at 8:00 AM, but please make sure you are checked-in well before the first heat of your child’s age group. For 11-13 year olds, heats start at 9:00 AM and for 8-10 year olds heats start at 10:00 AM. Your child will need time to stage their bike, helmet and other gear, so please leave plenty of extra time. After parking, please head to the pavilion next to the Smallenburg Skatepark for check-in, where racers will receive their swag bag and heat assignment.

Parking in the Smallenburg/Stadium Parking Lot will not be available on the day of the race. Instead, participants and spectators are encouraged to park on the side streets between 11th and 14th street or on the East end of the Devos Fieldhouse parking lot. Please refrain from parking in the Cemetery as well.
Please Note: Fairbanks Ave will be entirely closed to vehicle traffic on Saturday morning.

Swimsuit, Closed Toed Shoes, Towel, Bike & Helmet (unless you requested to borrow a bike and/or helmet at sign-up), Shorts/Shirt (to throw on over bathing suit after swim portion), Goggles (Optional)

Tulip City Kids’ Triathlon Route Map. We encourage you to take a look before the event so you and your participant are familiar with the route prior to event day.

On our route map we’ve highlighted a couple of the best spectator spots on the course. Download the route map at the link above and look for the black and white striped boxes. Please make sure you are near the track as your child finishes the race, so they can easily find you. On the day of the race, please be mindful of our route and only cross at spots free from racer traffic.

When you pre-registered for the race there was a place to note if you would like to borrow a bike, helmet or both. If you selected yes, our volunteers will direct you on where to pick-up your bike and/or helmet at check-in.

In the case of inclement weather, the Tulip City Kids’ Triathlon may be delayed or cancelled. Any changes will be communicated through email and on the Cancellation Page at hollandrecreation.com. Changes and cancellations will be avoided if at all possible and racers can expect to continue the event as scheduled in mild rainy conditions.
